Novel Bookcamp’s Statement on AI usage

As an organization, Novel Bookcamp believes in the joy, the power, and the ability of writers to create stories that will move readers and keep them engaged. We’re also aware that generative text tools—commonly called AI—exist. Many word-processing programs now have them built in for spell check, formatting, etc., and using these tools is almost unavoidable.

However, we advise against manuscript submissions to Bookcamp where AI tools were used for more involved writing help, anything from developing a character to outright writing. Bookcamp is here to contribute to your writing journey, fully human-created, no machines needed. We believe in you.
