2020 NIP rescheduled to August

Rescheduled

With the extraordinary circumstances currently affecting the nation because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have made the decision to reschedule the 2020 NIP to August 2-7. We will remain at the Cedar Valley Retreat Center in rural Southeast Wisconsin

Most of the writers who have enrolled in the Bookcamp workshop or the concurrent Writing Retreat have been able to join us at the new dates of Sunday, August 2, to Friday, August 7. However, a few are not able to reschedule, which now opens up private overnight accommodations for additional authors.

Note, the August dates are Sunday to Friday, which means we will not be able to stay overnight Friday and leave Saturday as originally scheduled in May. We will have to end the 2020 NIP Friday after dinner. Those are the only dates available to us in August at our venue, Cedar Valley.

We have adjusted our schedule to include all major planned activities. Saturday was always intended to allow staff and registrants a full day to travel home. Obviously, ending Friday night will not allow that. We can discuss options with individual registrants to help alleviate travel time concerns.

In addition, with one less night of occupancy at Cedar Valley in August and no Saturday breakfast, the registration fee will be $90 lower for both the Bookcamp and the Writing Retreat. That is in addition to the discount members of the Chicago Writers Association, Off Campus Writers’ Workshop, and Wisconsin Writers Association already enjoy.
